Busy day today. Will be even more so tomorrow. I hope everyone leaves me alone so that I can get everything done that I need to. I could go in over the weekend, but I really don't want to have to do that.

Snowy/slushy today, with a high of about 40. Damp. Foggy. First day of Spring is this weekend, huh? I'm from Missouri.

The amusing bit of the day concerns my dogs, who are certifiable lunatics. Must come from the Lab side of the Force. They don't necessarily want to play with me, but they want me outside while they play. King in particular will jump at the back door--he's done a number on the paint and we won't even discuss the mud--and bark until I show my face. When I do go outside, he and Mickey grab whatever toy they were playing with and take off, while I stand in the melting slush and think fondly of things like warm cups of coffee.

Today the toy of choice was the battered rubber ball on an elastic cord. There they are, playing tug o' war, stretching that thing until I swear it will snap. There I am, yelling "Stop that--you're going to put an eye out!" Like they understand. Like they're a pair of six year olds or something.
