As you know, Stanislaw, I hate thinking up business, the stuff that characters do in between the dialogue and the general plot-propulsion stuff. Ideally, it should be used to convey character or highlight something about the setting. Niall Pierce smokes, and the instances where he can't smoke, where his hand keeps moving to his trouser pocket and the nicstick case within and his temper gets shorter and shorter...fun, but easy to overuse. Scenes where Jani uses her scanpack are gifts to myself because I can break up the action and fill in the gaps around the dialogue and the Big Revelations for two to three pages, easy.
( Business school )
Yeah, it's basic. But it always tickles me when I figure it out. Like having the vending machine kick out two candy bars when you only paid for one.

I know all about good food. I like good food. But sometimes I just want a grilled Velveeta sammich with a big ol' dollop of ketchup to dredge it through and bread and butter pickles on the side.
I made a concession to the outer adult with regards bread. Black German Wheat by Brownberry, a pumpernickel-whole wheat cross that is, I think, my new fave bread.
I don't butter the bread. It doesn't need it, and I hate nothing more than picking up a sandwich that is so greasy that it slides through my fingers. Just the cheese and bread. Broil to your degree of toastiness. I like it justthisclose to smoking char, because I like crunchy toasty.
Freshly brewed coffee.
Dessert: a chocolate truffle and some vanilla wafers

I had the new ending for ENDGAME all worked out. Now we're at the point where I need to start laying the groundwork and as usual when the actual writing commences, things have taken a bit of a turn. I thought about it during the evening run--another 3, yea!--and I think I have something that works. Still the same basic ending, overall, approximately. But different, and I like it better. I feel more comfortable. Because there are some things Jani just won't do.
Tomorrow afternoon, I treat myself to a facial and a hot stone massage. If the masseuse can work out the knot that has entrenched itself between my shoulder blades, I will see if I can go back once a week just for the upper back work because dammit, I need something.
