incident
The December issue of Jim Baen's Universe, featuring a story by Yours Truly, is online.

Just thought I'd mention it.

It's my first published short work.

Not that I'm trying to guilt trip anyone or anything.

::inserts [info]mt_yvr's halo here::

In her LJ, [info]matociquala talks about JBU's current subscription drive. Many levels of membership available, including the Universe Club, membership in which enables you to read e-arcs of upcoming issues and access selected books for downloading. I joined, which is why I was able to go in and dig out the Incident artwork.

A wide range of stories, both SF and F. Check it out, if you can.

In other news, I guess northern Illinois could be in for some Weather-with-a-capital-W Thursday night into Friday. Snow, anywhere from 6-12 inches. The storm's path isn't set in stone yet, but I will have the shovel on the deck just in case. I already put away the garden hoses, and checked the level in the bin of deicer.

Why couldn't it have waited one more day? I do have all-wheel drive, but still.

At least I don't have to drive on the tollway.

I'll be up in Petoskey Thursday night working.

I should go out and get some chains to put on the tires.

Yeah. The weatherfolk here are hedging like mad since a few storms they warned us about last winter fizzled majorly. But all the major computer models are predicting something, so we'll see.

Stay safe over there.

Geez, you could be getting our +5 deg F with absolutely no snow cover. And to think it was almost 70 here over the weekend.

We just had 5-6 days of 50+ weather. Last week, I didn't even need a jacket when I put up the Christmas lights.

Gonna make up for it tonight. With weather, like magic, you always pay...

It snowed here monday and into tuesday. It wasn't too cold (in the grand scheme of things) while it was snowing, so what could have been 12"+ was only a couple of inches. The temperature dropped after the snow and it hasn't been above freezing in two days. Brrr! I guess that's what I get for moving to Colorado. I was going to go exploring today but decided with it being 12 degrees I was better off inside, since I don't own a winter coat or long underwear yet :D

Congrats on your stroy :)

Try Sierra Trading Post for good deals on coats and such.

We're bracing. If I heard correctly, both United and American cancelled all flights out of O'Hare from 10pm on. My area is expected to get 9-12", and temps have dropped into the 20s.

*sigh* My beautiful clean driveway. I brought work home just in case I can't get my car out of the garage tomorrow. I know I have all-wheel drive, but the snow is supposed to continue through noon, with blizzard conditions possible in the morning.
