Research question

I have found articles about the development of lactose tolerance in Europeans over the course of about 7000 years, but has anyone read recently about people developing the ability to digest previously indigestible foods over shorter time spans? I want to say that the article I am recalling discussed people developing the ability well within their lifetimes, but I could be misremembering.

The article discussed, frex, Asians with lactose intolerance developing the ability to digest dairy awithin a generation or two. However, it is late, and I could be conflating the lactose-tolerance-in-Europeans article with something else.

Have you posted this at Speculations.com? Under the "Research" tab they have an "ask the expert" area. I've gotten useful responses from their before.
